Mangaluru, 08 Aug 2017: Blood Helpline is serving the people and nation. Donating blood is a noble deed like feeding the hungry and helping the poor students to study. The ill notions about donating blood got to be eradicated by sensitizing people, said state food and civil supplies minister U T Khader.
The minister Khader was speaking after inaugurating blood camp that was organized to mark the first anniversary celebration of Blood Helpline Karnatka at Forum Fiza Mall, here, on Sunday, August 6.
Professor Pattabhirama Somayaji was the chief guest said that blood donors face many difficulties at the hospitals, while issuing identity cards by the state administration to selected active donors would help them in this regard.
MLAs Moideen Bava and J R Lobo, Chokkabettu Juma masjid Khatib Abdul Aziz Darimi, former mayor K Ashraf conveyed best wishes for the blood camp.
A H Noushad Haji Suralpady, Suhail Kandak, Nawaz Ullal, Yusuf Ulaibettu, Sharif Ulaibettu, Rafik Master, Razak Ullal and others were present.
Blood Helpline administrators Iftikar Krishnapura, Mustafa Addoor Demmale, Imran Addoor, Muzammil Nuyi Addoor and Fayaz Ali Demmele have organized this programme.
Karnataka Food Commission member B A Mohammed Ali Kammaradi, entrepreneur Zachariah Jokatte, educationist Harekala Hajabba, traffic volunteer Rauf were felicitated on the same occasion.
One-hundred-thirty people including minister U T Khader contributed their blood on the occasion.
The cultural shows were held at the leadership of Zulfi Beary. Competitions were held for children and for the gathering.
