Moodbidri: Inter College Cultural Competition Inaugurated

Moodbidri, 03 October 2010: Just after the celebration of Nudisiri couple of days ago, Vidhyagiri, Moodbidri is back into action on Tuesday evening, with the Inter College Cultural Competition. Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty formally inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Dr. Mohan Alva activated the proceedings of by beating of drums.

 

In his speech Dr. Ramananda Shetty said that if fifty percent of the youths are given proper education they will become the valuable asset of our nation. We can be proud that Alva’s have such an atmosphere. This event is not just a meet, but it is a festival as thousands of students are participating in it.

 

MLC Ganesh Karnik spoke on the occasion and said “I have never seen such a glorious stage before. During this event at Alva’s I found out how valuable every moment of life is”. Principal of the University was honoured on the occasion.

 

 

This three day cultural event will take place along with the sports meet at Swarajya Grounds. In the inaugural function students marched in the procession, followed by the songs from students and then the dances of the drummer artists. Yaksh Nrathya performance by the Alva’s Yakshagana team was applauded by all with great appreciation.

 

“Students should grow culturally strong. They should not consider art as a fashion; instead they should learn it with passion. Those who learn hard and achieve good results can adopt any kind of art without much difficulty” said Dr. Mohan Alva.

 

Other dignitaries present on the occasion were University Senate Member Dr. Abhilash, Irene D’Souza, Dr. Vasanth Shetty and Somashekar Shetty. Deepa Kottari compeered the program.
