Moodubelle: Women artists present Yakshagana programme during Navaratri

Moodubelle, 20 October 2010: During the recently concluded Navaratri programmes, the women artists of Shri Mahaganapati and Shri Mahalingeshwara Women’s Yakshagana Kalamandali presented the Yakshagana play named ‘Meenakshi Kalyana’ at Mahathobara Shri Virabhadra Swami temple Hiriyadka.
The Bhagwata during this performance was Chandrakanta Rao of Mooddubelle. Chande was by Ratnakar Acharya, Udupi, Maddhale was by Ratnakara Shenoy, Udupi and Harmonium by Sushanth Naik, Pernankila. The Yakshagana play was directed by Manjunath Kulal of Irodi, Sasthan.
The women artist who performed various roles in the ‘Meenakshi Kalyana’ included: Mrs. Jayanthi, Mrs. Rajivi, Mrs. Asha, Mrs. Usha, Kum. Geetha .U, Kum. Shrinidhi, Kum. Sujatha, Kum. Sukanya, Kum. Kavita and children: Ambarish, Diveth and Gaurav.
