Padubelle: Cooking competition and parents’ day celebration in Shri Narayanaguru School

Padubelle, 09 January 2010: With a view of not only providing the students with text book education, but also enable them to develop other skills, especially to train them in preparing various food items, the Shri Narayana Guru English Medium High School, Padubelle organized cooking competition for the students. Students were divided into nine groups of five each. Each group was allotted two hours time to prepare the dish of their choice.

The students enthusiastically prepared various palatable dishes and food items including pickle, beans vegetable, curry, sambhar, salads, rice and sheera.

Recently, the school also celebrated Parents’ Day in the School hall. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Sandhya Prabhu by lighting the lamp. Following the welcome note by the Head Master, Mr. Jinaraj C. Salian, the local management committee members of Shri Narayana Guru Educational Institutions, Mr. Shivaji Suvarna and Mr. Jaishankar addressed the parents on this occasion.

The programme included various fun games for the parents such as musical chair, bombing the city, throw ball for women and tug of war for men. A large number of parents attended the programme with great interest and enthusiasm. Mrs. Lavanya, the teacher of the school proposed the vote of thanks.
