Alevoor celebrate Gandhi Jayanthi by cleaning up the village

Alevoor, 03 October 2010: Members of Alevoor Gram Panchayat along with the members of NGOs, Social Organisations and Scouts and Guides on Saturday celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi by cleaning up the village. Gram Panchayat members led by their President Hareesh Kini swept and washed the bus stands using water.

 

Members of Youth organisation, Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala Self Help Groups and social organisations painted the bus stands. Scounts and Guides from Nehru High School Alevoor and the public picked the rags and garbage on both sides of the road. Executive Officer of Taluk Panchayath Udupi D Manjunathiah inaugurated the village clean up campaign at Durga Nagara.

 

 

Panchayath President Harish Kini presided over the programme. Dr Krishnaraj Bhat of Srinidhi Medicals, Dr Sachidananda Bhat Primary Health Center Manipura, Panchayath Development Officer Panchakshari Swami Kerimata, President of Alevoor Village Health and Sanitation Committee A Prashanth Acharya, Secretary Srimathi Hegade, former member Sathish Poojary and others were present.

 

They also took a `jatha’ from Durga Nagar to Naila Pade via Rampura, Jodurasthe, Guddeangadi, Neharu Nagar.
