Mangalore: Bharat Co-op Bank (Mumbai) Ltd organizes Mangalore Zonal Customers’ Meet at Suratkal

Mangalore, 22 Dec 2013: The Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, a multi-state scheduled bank organized their customers’ meet of Hampankatta, Suratkal and Mulky branches at Hotel Suraj International, Suratkal, here on Saturday December 21 evening.

The bank customers Channakeshav, Suryanarayan, J Amin, D Ramesh Naik, Suratkal – Buntara Sangh president M J Shetty and Ravi Poojary jointly inaugurated the customers’ meet. 

A power point presentation on the growth of Bharat Bank from its humble beginning 35 years ago was screened on the occasion.

Bharat Bank deputy general manager Nityanand D Kotian in his introductory address briefed on the Bank’s progress since it was founded by a handful of Billawa community veterans who envisioned financial empowerment for the new generation.  The Bank was floated by Billawar Association Mumbai® in Mumbai during 1978.

 

Nityanand further said that the Bank has achieved total turnover of 9,960 crore and plans are afoot to cross Rs 10,000 crore in a week’s time to qualify for being one among top 5 co-operative bank in India.  It has so far 55 branches with aggressive plans to reach 100 in 3 years.  It has maintained non-performing assets (NPA) to zero consistently since the past 9 years, said Nityanand. 

The Bank customers Bhaskar Baikampady, Ashok, M J Shetty, Suryanarayan, Madhav, Yogesh and others addressed their grievances; while Nityanand assured them that their issues will be discussed at the top level meeting in order to resolve them within the framework of RBI guidelines for co-operative banks.

The zonal head Balakrishna Karkera also spoke on the occasion.
