Uupi: Old Students of Belle School to organize Cricket and Volleyball Tournaments on 1 Decemb

Moodubelle, 29 November 2013: On the occasion of the Centenary Celebration of the Church Aided Higher Primary school, Moodubelle, the Old Students Association will be organizing limited over Cricket and Volleyball Tournament for men and women respectively on Sunday, 1 December 2013. The tournaments will be held in the grounds of St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle.
This year (2013) marks the centenary of the transfer of the school founded by Belle Dasappayya into the hands of Rev. Fr. Casmir Fernandes, the founder of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle in the year 1913 which has been known as the Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle. The Centenary celebrations will be held on December 29 and 30, 2013.
The Old Students Association that has been revived during this year to celebrate the Centenary Year has been quite active in providing free uniform and books to the students and computer to the school office. It has also organized Volleyball and Throw Ball competitions for men and women respectively in the month of September 2013.
The Sports Secretary of the Old Students Association said that the Limited Over’s Cricket and Volleyball Tournament for men and women respectively will help in bringing about the unity and solidarity among the Old Students and also help in reviving their sporting spirit. Rajendra Shetty-Presdient of Old Students Association of Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle has made an appeal to all the Old Students of the school to participate in the Limited Overs Cricket and Volleyball Tournament.
