Mangalore: Konkani Young Writers open for New Ideas – Fr Francis Roldrigues

Mangalore, 02 July : It’s a lie that there is dearth of Konkani young writers. It’s a fact that they have come out of traditional mindset. They are open for new ideas, said Fr Francis Rodrigues, editor of Raknno, Konkani weekly.
Fr Francis was speaking during the inaugural of ‘Yuva Kirnam’ a unique confluence of young litterateurs, which was held at Bishop’s House, Kodialbail, here on Sunday June 30. It was organized at the joint aegis of Konkani Writers Forum – Karnataka ® and Raknno, Konkani weekly.
Fr Francis conveyed best wishes to the youth in order to shine in Konkani literary sphere with their major contributions.
Vishwa Konkani Kendra chairman Basti Vaman Shenoy and veteran litterateur Edwin J F D’Souza jointly inaugurated the programme.
The story writer and poet Antony D’Souza Barkoor, poet and columnist Wilma D’Souza, poet and story writer Venkatesh Nayak partaken in the seminar. They shared their views on their inspiration to pen literature, the existing situation of Konkani and its literature, its future.
Konkani Writers Forum – Karnataka ® president and www.kittal.com editor Henry Mendonca (H M Pernal) presided the seminar.
The secretary Marcel D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Joachim Pinto Vamanjoor proposed vote of thanks. Joint secretary Tony Ferros compered the programme.
