Kundapur: Veteran Entrepreneur Solomon Soans Expresses Concern over Youth Glued to Internet

Kundapur,15 May 2013: The corruption and dishonesty has extended to all spheres. The education department supplies furniture to state-run schools which spoils within 6 months. In spite of the painting contractor assigns a few painters to apply just one layer of paints and they work for 1 day, the contractor gets the full contract money. It was no so in the early days of Independence. The term of freedom is misused widely, said the veteran entrepreneur and philanthropist Solomon Soans.
Soans was peaking during the seminar that was organized by taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat, in association with Udupi district Kannada Sahitya Parishat at Soan’s residence here on Tuesday May 14.
Solomon being a top sportsman in his younger days expressed deep concern over youth who are glued to internet. Cricket is just not only the sport, added Soans.
Solomon reminisced his childhood, school days, and professional career with the participants. He relived his days during freedom struggle, the Independence Day celebration by climbing in a truck along with friends when he was studying in Class VII, constructing Nehru Sports Pavilion in city and the teachers who taught him.
Solomon’s wife Ratnamala also shared her memories of marital life, that she always encouraged their children to study, while her husband would encourage them to play.
Kannada Sahitya Parishat felicitated Soans couple at the same occasion.
The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Kundapur Narayan Karvi presided the programme.
The local senior citizens Ardi Narayan Shenoy and Anantakrishna Kodgi, B R Rai School head teacher Sasikala, journalist Bernard D’Costa, Narayan Kundapur participated in the seminar.
Solomon’s son Vishwas and family was also present at the occasion.
The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat secretary K G Vaidya welcomed the gathering. Udupi Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Nilavar Surendra Adiga delivered the introductory address. Narayan Kundapur proposed vote of thanks.
