Bantwala: Cooperation of organizations is essential to bring specially abled children to the mainstream. It is commendable that organizations like Vikas, Rotary Club and Lions Clubs are working in this regard. Bantwala Land Development Bank President and lawyer Arun Roshan D’Souza said that this will help to build self-confidence in specially abled children.
He was speaking while inaugurating a program organized by Vikas Seva Foundation, School Education Department and Field Resource Center on the occasion of World Disabled Day at Ambedkar Bhavan, BC Road on Tuesday.
Rotary Club Bantwala Town President Kishore Kumar said that Rotary Club is cooperating to identify special children with a better position in the society.
Lions Seva Trust Treasurer Sunil B. said that the Lions Club has been running a special Chetana Child Care center free of charge for many years and has always been helping them.
Saksham Dakshina Kannada District Unit President Rajashekhar Bhat Kakunje said that the role of parents and the contribution of society is important in the upbringing of children.
Field Education Officer’s Office Education Coordinator Pratima YV, Field Resource Center Incharge Coordinator Vidyakumari, Resource Person Nagarathna, Child Development Project Officer Mumtaz, Vikas Sanstha Benefactor Rajani G. Shetty were present.
Gopal Govintota, Founder Director, Vikas Seva Foundation, who presided over the function, said that Vikas Sanstha is working to identify children with mental problems including autism and involve them in the mainstream of society.
Ganesh Bhat, Founder Director, Vikas Seva Foundation, welcomed the guests and addressed the gathering. Vikasam Seva Foundation Founder Director Dharma Prasad Rai thanked the guests. Field Resource Center Special Resource Officer Surekha Yala conducted the programme. On this occasion, prizes were distributed to special children.
