Fancy Dress competition representing Saints Conducted in St Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 01 Nov 2022: On All the Saints Feast day, the children studying from first to tenth standards, enthusiastically participated in Fancy Dress competition representing various Saints in the Parish Hall on Tuesday, 1 November 2022 from 9 am to 10 am. The competition was organized by the ICYM and YCS Units of the parish. The leadership of the competition was taken by Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, supported by the Parish Priest Fr. George D’Souza with the cooperation of Gerald Fernandes-Vice President of the Parish pastoral Council, Charles Quadras-Secretary, Mrs. Monica D’Souza-Convener of the 20 Commissions, Dr. Judith Lobo-Coordinator of the Youth Commission and Animator of the YCS, Mrs. Shanti Alva-Animator of ICYM and Mrs. Nikita Rebello-Animator of YCS.

 

The programme commenced with the prayer and welcome dance. Dr. Judith Lobo narrated the importance of the  feast of the All Saints and the reason behind arranging the Fancy Dress competition representing the Saints. Fr. Pradeep Cardoza explained the rules of presentation.

 

 

Children representing various saints presented their act by narrating briefly about the saints that they represented. It was a good and encouraging attempt to educate the children about the saints and bring out their talents.

 

The judges of the competition were  Fr. Anston Fernandes (OFM Cap) of the Assisi Nilaya and Sr. Bertina BS of the Loreto Convent.

 

Ashish Alva-Vice President of the ICYM welcomed the gathering; Ishel Alva-Media Secretary of YCS proposed the vote of thanks and Sonia Fernandes-Secretary of YCS compered the programme.
