Mangaluru: Voice of Blood Donors launch logo to mark 5th Anniversary

Mangaluru, 15 Sep 2022: Voice of Blood Donors® commemorated their 5th anniversary by releasing the logo in a simple function held at their office, here on Thursday September 15.
Voice of Blood Donors (VOBD) founder president Abdul Rauf Bunder, newly-elected president Oswald Furtado, Irshad Darimi Mittabail, Ahmed Moideen Khalifa Dabbe of Muttupet, TN, social activist Hussein Katipalla, Mangaluru street vendors Association secretary B K Imtiyaz, Suhail Khan, Mangaluru former mayor K Ashraf, VOBD secretary Alisha were present at the dais.
Irshad Darimi Mittabail performed the dua on the occasion. Ahmed Moideen Khalifa Dabbe released the logo along with all dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashraf lauded the humanitarian deeds of VOBD whose members are available on call to help the needy by voluntarily contributing blood. It has been organizing blood camps from time to time in collaboration with district blood bank run by Indian Red Cross Society and also helping the orphaned and sick. He urged the gathering to support the humanitarian cause of VOBD in a large way.
In his presidential address, Oswald Furtado thanked for the opportunity to serve as president of VOBD. He committed himself to enhance the humanitarian activities of VOBD to reach greater heights by sensitizing the people on blood donation that saves precious lives of accident victims and other cases.
The well known social activist Imtiyaz said that it’s easy to establish an organization while it’s difficult to sustain it in the longer run. He cited his own case where he runs a HIV Rehab Center in the city all by himself for 6 years without crowdfunding through FB. Despite economic upheavals faced by Covid-19, its running. He also said, he has been donating blood since the past many years at least 4 times in a year. He commended Rauf Bunder, founder president for steering the organization in spite of difficulties because of commitment to humanitarian causes.
Hussein Katipalla welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.
