Mumbai: Udupi Kedara brand Brown Boiled Rice launched; also available in Amazon

Mumbai, 08 Aug 2022: The paddy grown in disused fields across Udupi district of Karnataka has yielded bumper crops because of social farming that was envisioned by Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat. He explored the scope for food sufficiency when the country was under Covid-19. The Kedarottan Trust® floated to revive paddy cultivation and had been successful in social farming on disused fields yielded bumper crops of nutritious boiled brown rice that was launched at Mumbai market, said Mumbai north MP Gopal C Shetty.

 

MP Shetty was speaking during the launching of Kedara boiled rice held at Bunts Bhawan auditorium, Kurla (West), here on Sunday August 7.

 

Maharashtra MLC Rajahamsa Singh was the chief guest present.

 

 

In his presidential address, Karnataka MLA Raghupati Bhat assured that no land will be left disused in Udupi which will be turned into lush paddy fields. He said, ‘I am overwhelmed with the bumper crop out of joint farming that laid a strong foundation for future farming. Kedara branded boiled rice is available on Amazon is also a marvelous feat,’ said Bhat.

 

Bunts Sangh Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty, Karnataka Coastal Development Authority chairman Ratnakar Hegde Mattur, leading natives settled in Mumbai - Harish G Amin, Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, Padmanabha S Payyade, Sudhakar S Hegde, Dr R K Shetty, Ravi S Shetty (Sai Palace), Shivanand D Shetty (AHAAR), journalist Chandrashekar Palettadt veteran litterateur Dr Dr Sunita M Shetty, Uma Krishna Shetty, Dharmapal U Devadiga, Gunapal R Shetty Aikala BJP leader Santosh Shetty Bhiwandi, Mundappa S Payyade, Shantaram B Shetty, Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, Ramesh N Shetty, N B Shetty, K C Shetty (IBCC), Kedarottana Trust treasurer K Raghavendra Kini, trustees Mahesh Takoor, Praveen Shetty Kappettu, Birti Rajesh Shetty, Cherkady Umesh Naik, Cherkady Harish Shetty and others were present.

 

The event began with farmers folk songs presented by Jaya Shetty Moodubelle. Shailaja Shetty rendered the prayer. Yermal Harish Shetty welcomed the gathering. Raghavendra Kini proposed vote of thanks.

 

Corona, Tulu play presented by the artistes of Kalajagattu Mumbai troupe.

 

The event concluded with the food while the rice was prepared out of Kedara boiled rice served with Tulunadu delicacies.
