Mumbai: Enterprising entrepreneurs to launch Udupi Kedara Kaje, boiled rice brand on Aug 7

Mumbai, 03 Aug 2022: Udupi Kedara Kaje, nutritious boiled rice of traditional variety of coastal district of Karnataka will be launched in Mumbai for the natives settled in metropolitan city to satiate their craving for home food on August 7, said Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat.
Bhat was speaking during the pre-launch of boiled rice held at Kamla Vihar Sports Club auditorium, Mahaveer Nagar, Kandivali (East), here on Sunday July 31.
Mumbai north MP Gopal Shetty presided the programme.
The chief convener Yermal Harish Shetty said, Udupi Kaje rice will be launched in the presence of MP Gopal Shetty, both national and Maharashtra/Karnataka peoples representatives on August 7 at 5.30pm. The rice prepared by the same variety will be served with many delicacies to all at 8.00pm.
It’s significant that the paddy has been grown in disused fields in Udupi district that were identified by MLA Bhat. The crop has been grown using irrigation after the harvesting of the monsoon crop. Kedarottana Trust who embarked on this herculean task harvested about 900 tons of paddy. The rice of the same paddy will be made available to natives in Mumbai.
Kala Jagattu founder Dr Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty, Mogaveera Vyavastapaka Mandali Mumbai president Ashok S Suvarna, Bunts Sangh Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty, joint treasurer Mundappa S Payyade, Billawar Association Mumbai president Harish G Amin, Bharat Bank director Gangadar J Poojary, Karnataka Sangh Mumbai president Dr Bharatkumar Polipu, Subash Jaya Suvarna and others were present.
Vijayakumar Shetty compered the programme.
