Udupi: ‘Shivadhute Gulige’ Socio-Mythological Play Staged by Lions Club, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 11 Feb 2022: The Socio-Mythological Play ‘Shivadhute Gulige’ was stage at the St. Lawrence PU College Quadrangle on Friday, 11 February 2022 from 7 pm under the auspices of the Lions Club, Moodubelle in aid of the service activities of the club, especially to provide a house to the needy family under the project of the ‘Home for the Homeless’.
Prior to the beginning of the play, Ln. Valerian Noronha, President of the Lions Club of Moodubelle along with Secretary Ln. Joseph Martis, Treasurer Ln. Elias Lobo and Ln. Devdas Hebbar-organizer of the programme explained the reason behind staging the play for raising funds for the project.
‘Shivadhute Gulige’ is a socio-mythological drama presented by ‘Kalasangama’ Mangalore directed by Vijay Kumar Kodialbail. The character of Shivadhute Gulige was enacted by Swaraj Shetty. There were around 35 artists and backstage hands that made the play a great success.
The audience observed pin-drop silence throughout the play mainly due to the flawless narration of the play through the acting and the special effects. The music and light effects along with the luminous make up raised the play to new heights.
According to Vijay Kumar Kodiyalbail, it was 176th presentation of the paly in Moodubelle. He was honoured by Ln. Valerian Noronha-President of the Lions Club, Moodubelle along with Ln. Joseph Martis-Secretary and Ln Elias Lobo-Treasurer.
Sudhakar Poojary-President of Belle Grama Panchayat picked up the lucky winner of the counterfoil of the tickets. And the winner was Ln. Alwyn Mathias from Mumbai.
