Puttur: Fr Dr Antony P Monteiro takes charge as new principal of St Philomena College

Puttur, 01 Jan 2022: Catholic Board of Education (CBE), Mangaluru appointed Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro as new principal of St Philomena College, here.

 

Prof Leo Noronha who has served as the principal of the College for the past 12 years transferred to Sacred Heart College, Madantyar in Beltangady taluk due to the personal reasons and in his place, Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, assistant Professor in the department of physics, has been appointed as the principal.

 

The farewell meeting was held at the principal chamber and Fr Jerome Lawrence Mascrenhas, the correspondent of the College lauded the immense contribution of out-going principal, Prof Leo Noronha to the institution. ‘He served the institution with the highest degree of integrity,’ said Fr Jerome Lawrence Mascrenhas.

 

 

Prof Ganesh Bhat, the secretary of Staff Association complemented the service rendered by Prof Leo Noronha to the College and the education at large. 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Leo Noronha said, ’The college is actually my second home and I tried my best to rectify and modify them with love and affection that worked many times, and with satisfaction but heavy heart I am now leaving the great institution, said Prof Leo Noronha.

 

 

Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro also spoke on the occasion and wished good health and contentment to Prof Leo Noronha.

 

Fr Vijay Lobo, the principal of St Philomena Pre University College, Fr Stany Pinto, the campus director, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, the warden and Professor of Commerce PG section, Mauris Mascarenhas, Valerian J Fernandes, Xavier D’Souza, John Coutinho and other members of governing council, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the College were present.
