St. Lawrence EM High School, Moodubelle Celebrates Christmas with Enthusiasm Manifesting Their Talen

Udupi/M’Belle, 24 Dec 2021: St. Lawrence English Medium High School, Moodubelle celebrated Christmas with great enthusiasm manifesting the talents of the students on Friday, 24 December 2021 at 10.30 am in St. Lawrence Parish Community Hall.

 

The chief guests of the programme were Advocate Santosh Kumar, Ln. Haneef Mohammad and Fr. Cyril Lobo. The chief guests along with Br. Philip Noronha-Principal of St. Lawrence English Medium School inaugurated the Christmas programme by lighting the lamp.

 

In his Christmas message, Ln. Haneef Mohammod said that God Almighty is good who protects all His creations. Christmas is the festival in which people belonging to all communities take part. It is a feast of happiness and joy.

 

Adv. Santosh Kumar in his address said that he was a student of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions. He recalled his student days when he used to visit the homes of Christian neighbours and held them in the preparation of Christmas sweets (Kuswaar) which he also enjoyed eating. He further said that Christmas is the festival during which all people come together and celebrate.

 

In his message, Fr. Cyril Lobo-Assistant Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle high lighted the significance of Christmas in modern times. He said that Jesus, the Son of God was born in a humble way in the cowshed in a very small village of Bethlehem in Israel and taught humanity the virtue of simplicity and humility.

 

 

Fr. George D’Souza-Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle conveyed the greetings of Christmas to all the students, parents and the staff members of St. Lawrence English Medium School. He said that Christmas signifies love to one another and not hatred. All religions preach love, peace and brotherhood. It is very important to have a peaceful and progressive society and nation through lovee and brotherhood that was taught by Jesus Christ.

 

The choir of St. Lawrence English Medium School sang Christmas Carols in English, Kannada, Konkani and Hindi at different intervals during the entire programme. The students also presented a beautiful tableau on the birth of Jesus Christ.

 

Two students, Melcon and Khushi dressed up as Santa Clauses enhanced the Christmas celebration. They danced along with the children dressed all in red attire.

 

The students also presented two record dances one being with the Santa Claus. The presentations by the students manifested the musical, singing, acting and dancing talents of the students of St. Lawrence English Medium School ably trained by their teachers under the guidance and leadership of Br. Philip Noronha.

 

Fr. Cyrl Lobo also sang with the school choir one of the Christmas songs composed by himself. 

 

Commodore Jerome Castelino, Gerald Fernandes-Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Leeladhar Kamath-President of PTA and parents of the students were present for the programme.

 

Student leaders Ashley D’Souza welcomed the guests and Jenisha Machado proposed the vote of thanks. Jeston Lobo and Trisha compeered the programme.
