Mangaluru: Let us spread peace in trying times during Christmas season – M G Hegde

Mangaluru, 22 Dec 2021: Catholic Sabha of St Lawrence parish, Bondel, here and Inter Religious Commission of Bondel parish jointly organized ‘Christmas Souharda Koota’ at St Lawrence Church hall here on Monday, December 20.

 

M G Hegde, director, MIFT College, Rehman Kunjatbail, president, Ranga Swaroopa, Kunjatbail, Walter Nandalike, managing director -Daijiworld Media were the chief guests of the occasion.

 

In his keynote address, Fr Peter Gonsalves, principal, St Lawrence English Medium School, Bondel said, ‘What Is the True Meaning of Christmas with a Message - Jesus’  was one of love, not hate, Jesus showed His love for others by blessing and serving.’

 

The programme was inaugurated by Sangeeta R Nayak, corporator of Pachanady ward by cutting the cake.

 

 

In her address, Sangeeta appreciated the concept of Souhardha Koota and congratulated the organizers.

 

The chief guest M G Hegde, director, MIFT College, said, ‘We have to love one another in order to make this Christmas meaningful. At a time when society is wrought by evil designs, we have to dedicate our life for others and spread the message of peace in this Christmas season,’ he added.

 

Rehman Khan said, ‘Jesus gave a message of peace and love to the world.’

 

Walter Nandalike said, ‘Don’t be a hypocrite, but be out of that. All religions preach the goodness of truth and moral living, love and compassion. We should respect all.’

 

In his presidential address, Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest, St Lawrence church, Bondel said, "Christmas is the opportune time to remind ourselves that God’s language is love. He does not speak any other language than the words of love.’

 

 

Choir group presented melodious singing ushering the spirit of Christmas celebrations. 

 

Stephen D’Silva, president Catholic Sabha - Bondel Unit welcomed the gathering. Niral Vas, convenor proposed vote of thanks.

 

Manohar Concessao compered the programme.

 

Reginald D’Souza, vice president, Bondel parish council and Stephen Noronha, secretary, Lancy D’Cunha, convenor of Souharda Koota were also present.
