Mangaluru: Congress celebrates victory of newly-elected MLC Manjunath Bhandary

Mangaluru, 14 Dec 2021: The District Congress Committee (DCC) celebrated the victory of their MLC candidate Manjunath Bhandary at their office, here on Tuesday, December 15, soon after the results were announced by the electioneering officer DK district DC Dr K V Rajendra.
Manjunath Bhandary secured 2,079 votes and for Manjunath it will be his first term as a member of the legislative council (MLC).
In the local authorities’ constituency covering Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts from where 2 candidates were to be elected to the legislative council, BJP candidate and reigning minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary and Congress candidate Manjunath Bhandary, succeeded in registering victories with first preference votes.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister for social welfare and backward classes welfare, entered the legislative council once again by bagging 3,672 votes.
Congress veterans Abayachandra Jain, DCC former president Kodijal Ibrahim, youth Congress leader Mitun Rai and party activists shared the joy of their elected-MLC Manjunath Bhandary.
