Late Joseph Mary Pinto Niddodi Literary Award Conferred on Muddhu Theerthahalli

Udupi. 07 Dec 2021: If any one wants to become a successful writer of literature, he or she must develop the habit of reading books. By this one can develop the necessary knowledge and interest required to be an effective writer of literature, said Dr. Vincent Alva, Principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur. He was speaking after the inauguration of the get together of the representatives of ‘Amcho Sandesh’, Konkani writers and conferring of Late Joseph Mary pinto Niddodi Literary Award at the Milagres College Conference Hall on Sunday, 5 December 2021 organized jointly by “Amcho Sandesh" Konkani monthly magazine, Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh and Konkani Sanghattane Udupi.

 

On this occasion the Late Joseph and Mary Pinto Niddodi Literary Award for Young Writers for the year 2021 sponsored by the Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh was conferred on Vitasha Ria Rodrigues (Muddhu Theerthahalli).

 

 

In the Konkani writers workshop conducted on this occasion, Stany Bela, Chief of Daijiworld Mangalore Bureau spoke on the techniques of writing articles. Wilfred Lobo of ‘Amcho Sandesh’ monthly magazine spoke on the method of writing letters to the Editors and Michael Rodrigues-Media Coordinator of Udupi Diocese spoke on how to write news reports to media outlets.

 

Mrs. Mary D’Souza-President of the Catholic Sabha, Udupi pradesh presided over the programme.

 

On this occasion the reprint of the autobiography of Rev. Fr. Mark Walder, former Editor of ‘Rakno’ titled ’Lokacho Yajak’ (Priest of the Peple) published by Divyadeepa Prakasha, Santekatte, Kallianpur was released.

 

Gregory PK D’Souza-Chief Secretary of the Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh, Alwyn Quadros-former president, Elroy Kiran Crasto-Publisher of ‘Amcho Sandesh’, Melrida Rodrigues-Treasurer of the Catholic Sabha, Mangalore Pradesh, Walter Cyril Pinto-member of the family of late Joseph Mary Pinto Niddodi were present. 

 

Dr. Gerald Pinto-Coordinator of the programme welcomed the gathering. Edward Larsen D’Souza of Petri introduced the guests. Rosy Baretto-President of Catholic Sabha, Kallianpur deanery proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Flavia Castelino compeered the programme.
