Udupi: Free Bone Density Checkup Camp Organized at Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 08 Oct 2021: Lions Club, Moodubelle along with  Mayor Vita Biotech, Bangalore organized free Bone density Check up Camp at the Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle on Friday, 8 October 2021 from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.

 

The free Bone Density Check up Camp was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Ashok Kumar-Lions District 317C ‘Health For All’ Coordinator and proprietor of Okude Diagnostic Centre, Udupi. Dr. Pravin Nayak Amunje-Treasurer of Udupi Red Cross Organization was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Ln. Valerian Noronha who presided over the inaugural programme, Ln. Prakash Andrade-member of the Lions Club, Udupi and former Councilor of Udupi Municipal Council, Ln. Devdas Hebbar-Coordinator of the  free Bone Density Camp, Ln. Joseph martis-Secretary of the Lions Club, Moodudbelle, Ln. Elias Lobo-Treasurer and Leo Joy Fernandes-Lions District Leo President.

 

In his introductory remarks, Ln. Prakash Andrade who arranged the free Bone Density Check up Camp at the Lions Club, Moodubelle pointed out various reasons of the problems faced by the modern generation with regards to bones. He said that the earlier generation because of their hard work in the sun and healthy food have been relatively free from serious bone disease problems. The modern generation, due to the availability of various technological innovations do not have sufficient exercise and are not exposed to the sunlight which is rich in Vitamin D. Lack of proper exercise and exposition to the sun as well as the type of food they consume has been causing bone problems even before they reach the middle age. He advised regular exercise such as walking in the morning or evening in sunlight and  consumption of healthy food as the preventive measures to avoid the bone diseases such as Osteopenic and Osteoporotic.

 

 

In his message, Dr. Ashok Kumar advised the beneficiaries to take care of the bones as they would take care of other organs for healthy and happy life.

 

Ln. Valerian Noronha welcomed the gathering. Ln. Joseph Martis proposed the vote of thanks and Ln. Devdas Hebbar compeered the programme.

 

The free Bonse Density camp was carried out by Sandesh Shetty-Area manager of Mayor Polaris, Thane, Maharashtra, Umesh Kadurmatt-Chief technician and Ashwin Kumar-Mayor Company Representative.

 

More than 100 people took advantage of the free Bone density Check up Camp organized by the Lions Club, Moodubelle.
