Udupi: Free Covid Vaccination Drive Organized at Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 23 Aug 2021: Free Covid Vaccination drive was organized at the Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle on Monday, 23 August 2021 from 9 am. The Vaccination drive was organized jointly by the Primary health Centre, Pernankila along with Lions Club, Moodubelle and Belle Grama Panchayat under the coordination of Ln. Rajendra Shetty who is also a member of the Belle Grama Panchayat.
The free vaccination drive was inaugurated by Sudhakar Poojary, President of Belle Grama Panchayat along with the dignitaries on the dais-Ln. Valerian Noronha-President of Lions Club, Moodubelle, Dr. Ravindra Borkar-Medical Officer of the Primary Health centre, Pernankila, Ln. Dr. K.K. Kalkura-former Medical Officer at Primary health centre, Pernankila who was the chief guest, Ln. Rajendra Shetty, Leo Joy Fernandes-District Leo President and Leo Joyce Fernandes-President of the Leo Club, Moodubelle.
Sudhakar Poojary, Dr. Ravindra Borkar and Ln. Dr. K.K. Kalkura were felicitated on this occasion for their service to the society.
In his message, Panchayat President Sudhakar Poojary said that Belle Grama Panchayat has been taking a number of steps to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and sought the cooperation of the villagers in eradicating the disease by following the Covid 19 protocol.
Dr. Ravindra Borkar in his address explained the symptoms and precautions to be taken in preventing the spread of Covid 19. He emphasized on the need to test whenever there are slightest of the symptoms. He asked the villagers not to panic and doubt the result of the Covid 19 test. He greatly appreciated the service rendered by his medical staff at the Primary Health Centre, Pernankila, the nurses, technical staff and the Asha Workers.
Ln. Dr. K.K. Kalkura complimented the Lions Club of Moodubelle in organizing the free vaccination drive for the benefit of the villagers.
Ln. Joseph martis-Secretary of the Lions Club, Moodubelle, Ln. Elias Lobo-Treasurer, Ln. Gerlad Fernandes and other members were present.
In total 250 doses of the vaccine was to be administered. Out of 250 doses- 80 were reserved for the second dose recipients and 170 for the first dose recipients.
Ln. Valerian Noronha welcomed the guests and the gathering, Ln. Devdas Hebbar proposed the vote of thanks and Ln. Rajendra Shetty compeered the programme.
