Mangaluru: Voice of Blood Donors donate 42 units to IRCS on World Blood Donors Day

Mangaluru, 14 Jun 2021: The Voice of Blood Donors®, Mangaluru, in association with Team Tigers, Mangaluru and in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Mangaluru organized a Mega Blood Camp at IRCS blood bank, Lady Goschen, here on Monday, June 14.

 

It was held to mark World Blood Donors’ Day that was earmarked to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.  Various camps are also organized at many places to donate blood on June 14 on the occasion of World Blood Donors’ Day.

 

The Voice of Blood Donors (VOBD) is striving to make access to safe blood a reality for everyone.  The slogan of VOBD – ‘Give blood and keep the world-beating’ highlights the essential contribution of blood donors make in keeping the world pulsating by saving lives and improving others matter.

 

 

Voice of Blood Donors donated 42 units of blood to IRCS blood bank during the blood camp held on Monday, June 14 on World Blood Donors Day.

 

Voice of Blood Donors president Thouheed sponsored the cake to mark World Blood Donors Day.

 

The objective of this year’s World Blood Donors observance was: 

 

Ø  To thank blood donors in the world and create wider public awareness of the need for regular, unpaid blood donations.

 

Ø  To promote the community values of blood donation in enhancing community leadership and social cohesion.

 

Ø  To encourage youth to embrace the humanitarian call to donate blood and inspire others to do the same.

 

Ø  To celebrate the potential of youth as partners in promoting health.

 

 

It was observed to raise awareness among people about blood donation and to thank all those who have ever donated blood in life’s call and have saved many precious lives.  The medium also encouraged people to donate blood so that this could contribute to saving someone else’s life.
