DC Dr Rajendra instructs officials to penalize offenders of Covid Norms – as second wave looms

Mangaluru, 26 Mar 2021: Dakshina Kannada district DC Dr Rajendra K V instructed officials to penalize the offenders who don’t follow Covid-19 norms, such as wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing as they have been proved effective in curbing Covid.
Addressing the officials during the meeting held at district headquarters, here on Thursday, March 25, regarding precautions to be taken at the backdrop of second wave of Covid – Dr Rajendra urged the people to follow Covid norms and to take vaccines compulsorily for over 45 years of age. The misconception on Covid vaccines and fear ought to be shunned at any cost.
Dr Rajendra also advised the heads of wedding halls, organizers of conventions, pharmacy; association, petrol pump owners association, toll gate operators, Amazon/Flip Kart, Swiggy and Zomato – the online service providers to instruct their all employees in order to follow Covid norms.
The cashiers in bars and restaurants, hotels ought to wear face masks, hand glouses, also provide sanitizers and thermal screening of customers at their premises, he added.
The restaurant and convention halls owners must get permission from concerned authority before organizing mega events in air-conditioned facilities and limit the number of guests.
DK district health officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari, urban development cell project director Gayatri Nayak, municipal commissioner Dineshj Kumar, the heads of petrol pump owners association, district wedding halls owners, convention centers owners and others were present.
