Udupi: Lions Club Moodubelle and Belle Grama Panchayat Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti

Udupi/M’Belle, 02 Oct 2020: Lions Club of Moodubelle and Belle Grama Panchayat jointly celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Father of Nation’ on Friday, 2 October 2020 at 10 am in the Conference Hall of the Panchayat Office. The brief function honouring Mahatma Gandhi was presided over by Dr. Arun Kumar Hegde, presently President of Belle Grama Panchayat. Other dignitaries on the dais included Mrs. Vasanthi-PDO, Ln. Rajendra Shetty-Zone Chairman  and Ln. Anil D’Mello-President of the Lions Club of Moodubelle.

 

Homage was paid to Mahatma Gandhi by the dignitaries on the dais by garlanding the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and offering floral petals.

 

As the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi has been celebrated as ‘Cleanliness Day’ (Swachch Bharath Abhiyaan), two Paanchayat employees associated with the cleanliness of the township, Sundara and Vasantha were felicitated by the dignitaries on the dais.

In his address, Dr. Arun Kumar Hegde appreciated the good work that has been carried out by the Lions Club, Moodubelle. He further said that any work of social significance can be carried out when other social organizations cooperate with government agencies such as the village panchayat. 

 

Ln. Gerald Fernandes-Leo Clubs Coordinator of Lions District 317C, Ln. Neville D’Souza-Treasurer of Lions Club, Moodubelle, Leo Joyce Fernandes-President of the Leo Club anda number of Lion Memebrs and staff of the belle Grama Panchayat were present.

 

Ln. Devdas Hebbar compeered the programme, welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks.
