Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa tests positive for Covid-19

Bengaluru, 02 Aug 2020: Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa, in a late-night tweet on Sunday, said he had tested positive for Covid-19 infection and was being hospitalised on a “precautionary” basis.
According to the CMO, the CM’s test results came positive as part of the once a week test for Covid-19 conducted on him, apart from the once in 15 days test on CMO officials, conducted by the health department. The results were made available at 10pm on Sunday night.
In his tweet, Yediyurappa said: “I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine.”
