Mangaluru: Corporates donate ventilators to Wenlock Hospital Covid Clinic

Mangaluru, 30 Jun 2020: Major corporates in the city donated ventilators to DK district Wenlock Hospital that was facing shortage of ventilators at the designated Covid-19 wards, here on Monday, June 29.
Mangalore Refineries and Petroleum Limited (MRPL) donated 5 ventilators, Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers (MCF) donated 2 ventilators, New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) donated 3 ventilators and Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL) donated 2 ventilators.
The ventilators were handed over to DK district in charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary by the representatives of corporate during a simple function held at district headquarters, here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, DK MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, ‘Wenlock Hospital needs 60 ventilators. Rs 1 crore will be sanctioned under my constituency’s Area Development Fund in this regard. Meanwhile, DK district in charge minister and MLA Srinivas Poojary, Mangaluru south MLA Vedavyas Kamat and Mangaluru north MLA Dr Bharat Shetty will sanction funds under their constituencies local area development fund towards the cost of 2 ventilators each. With this, Wenlock Hospital will have 30 ventilators,’ said Nalin.
MLA Kamat, DK DC Sindh Rupesh, ADC Rupa and others were present.
