Mangaluru: Japanese study group overwhelmed with Konkani heritage at Mandd Sobhann

Mangaluru, 29 Feb: A group of students from Utsunomiya University who are on study tour paid a visit to Kalaangann, Konkani heritage center of Mandd Sobhann, city-based organization striving to promote Konkani and its distinct culture worldwide, here on Friday, February 28.
They were educated on Konkani and its distinct culture, unit in diversity by other Konkani speaking communities, Guinness Record created by Mand Sobhann with Nirantari, non-stop Konkani singing, staging monthly theaters, Mangoa TV Reality Show, MCC Bank Soad – 5, open air theater, wall sculpture, statues, Gumta – traditional drum, singing also museum that has ancient artifacts etc.
The group comprised Umi, Chikuan, Azana, Emy and Cana who were led by Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work head of department Dr Joslin Lobo.
Mandd Sobhann secretary Kishore Fernandes, PRO Victor Mathias, committee members Jaison Sequeira and Jasmine Lobo offered info to the study group.
