Kar state govt makes honest attempt to bring poor to mainstream of society – MLA Vedavyas

Mangaluru, 26 Feb: The household family living within municipal limits who sans LPG for cooking had to be identified and extended the facility, appealed Mangaluru south MLA Vedavyas Kamat.
Kamat was speaking after inaugurating the distribution of state facilities under urban poverty alleviation cell of civic body held at Town Hall, here on Tuesday, February 25.
It’s an irony that there are still a few household families in the city who have no cooking gas facilities, said Kamat. Meanwhile, he urged the citi-zens to report such cases to officials of food and civil supplies department or to him and supply LPG even if they have no proper documents that can be normalized.
He also said, ‘The state administration has been trying to alleviate poverty by providing state facilities under different schemes. One can lead dignified living by availing state facilities.
The civic body distributed state facilities to 873 beneficiaries on the same occasion, in order to help the poor to bring them to mainstream of society.
MLCIvan D’Souza said, ‘The state administration committed to create hunger-free society and to reach state facilities to the least of poor.’
Municipal deputy commissioner Dr Santosh Kumar, health officer Dr Manjayya Shetty and others were present.
