Mangaluru: International Kite Festival – major attraction at Karavali Utsav 2020

Mangaluru, 04 Jan: The Karavali Utsav this year will begin on January 10, while the International Kite Festival will be the major attraction.
International Kite Festival will be held from January 17 to January 19 at Panambur beach. The national and international kite enthusiasts will take part that will enhance the splendor of Karavali Utsav, coastal festival.
Several kite enthusiasts from many countries already expressed their interest in taking part and the preparations are under way for their arrangements.
The overseas kite enthusiasts with vast experience of participating in kite festivals worldwide are experts in design and choice.
The kite enthusiasts from Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Scotland, Turkey, Thailand, Netherland and Holland are likely to take part in International Kite Festival in city. The talks are under way with kite players in Switzerland and Australia.
DK district administration has already formed sub committees to ensure success of International Kite Festival. The preparations for their air travel, boarding and other amenities are under way.
DK DC Sindhu B Rupesh chaired the preliminary meeting on preparations for Karavali Utsav, here on Friday, January 3.
After viewing the preparations, DC urged the officials to ensure cultural shows are hit among the viewers. The cultural shows will be held in the grounds of Karavali Utsav and Kadri Park by renowned artistes from across the nation.
The mega cultural procession will be held in main streets in city on January 10, beginning of Karavali Utsav. DC Sindhu urged the people of DK district to take part in the procession in large numbers.
She also advised the officials to set up all basic amenities including toilets for the general public who arrive at Karavali Utsav grounds and Kadri Park.
ADC Roopa, sub division officer Madan Mohan, municipal commissioner Shanady Ajit Kumar, office bearers of sub-committees, Narendra Nayak, Yatish Baikampady, Gourav Hegde, Nisarga Manjunat and others were present.
