Students Enthusiastically Participate in Annual Day Celebration of St. Lawrence EM High School

Udupi/M’Belle, 13 Dec: The Annual Day of St. Lawrence English Medium High School, Moodubelle was celebrated with great enthusiasm and overwhelming participation by practically all the students right from LKG to Tenth standard with the overall supervision of Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Correspondent of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions and Principal of St. Lawrence EM High School, training by the teachers and cooperation from parents on Friday, 13 December 2019 from 4 pm at air-conditioned St. Lawrence Community Hall.

 

The Annual Day function commenced with the stage programme following the prayer dance by the students the music and lyrics of which were composed by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas. The stage programme was presided over by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas. Fr. Vincent Crasta-Secretary of Catholic Education Society of Udupi (CESU) was the chief guest. Other guests of honour included Fr. Jithesh Castelino-Assistant Parish Priest, Mrs. Ranjani Hegde-President of Belle Grama Panchayat, Mukunda Kamath- well-known businessman of Moodubelle and philanthropist, Vincent Fernandes-Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Leeladhar Kamath-President of PTA and Deepak Nayak-School Pupil Leader (SPL).

 

Following the welcome address by Mrs. Maria Barboza, Mrs. Malathi A., Vice Principal of St. Lawrence EM High School read the report of academic and other activities of the school.

 

Those students who had excelled in the SSLC Examinations held in the academic year 2018-19 were honoured with mementos and certificates by Fr. Vincent Crasta, Mrs. Ranjani Hegde and Mukunda Kamath. Sashidhar read out the names of the prize winning students.

 

Lizvita Rebecca D’Souza who was selected for State level in Pratibha Karanji English Speaking competition was felicitated by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas along with her parents.

 

Mrs. Joyce D’Sa introduced the chief guest of the Annual Day function Fr. Vincent Crasta.

 

In his keynote address, Fr. Vincent Crasta said that education gives strength to the students to develop into strong adults. Education shapes the character and future of the students. Children are the key for the success of the nation and education is the key in the success of the children. Making an appeal to the parents, Fr. Vincent Crasta said that it is not important to gather wealth and money and pass it on to their children. They should give such education and values to their children that they should become an asset in their lives rather than liabilities. He also said that parents should accept their children as they are and not to compare them with other children.

 

Mrs. Ranjani Hegde in her message also advised the parents to take care of their children and provide them good education and character.

 

 

In his presidential address, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas thanked the parents for sending their children to St. Lawrence English Medium High School and assured them that the management and teaching and non-teaching staff would take good care of them and provide them not only value based education but also train them in various other activities. 

 

Mrs. Sandra propsed the vote of thanks. 

 

 

Fr. Clement Mascarenhas acknowledged the contribution of Leeladhar Kamath, President of PTA and other members Mrs. Sujata Kamath and Mrs. Preema D’Souza and honoured them with roses.

 

The stage programme was compeered Lizvita Rebecca D’Souza.

 

The students of each and every class right from LKG to Tenth standard presented cultural programme including dances and awareness skits.
