Mangaluru: Cultural Extravaganza to be highlight of Karavali Utsav 2020

Mangaluru, 07 Dec: The variety cultural shows entertainment events will be held during the Karavali Utsav 2020, said DC Sindhu R.

 

Addressing the preliminary meeting to hold Karavali Utsav – 2020, DC said that cultural events will be held at Karavali Utsav grounds, Lalbagh, and Kadri Park. The Utsav will be held in first week of January 2020 and the date will be finalized after consultation with district-in-charge minister.

 

The first day ahead of Karavali Utsav, procession of cultural groups will be held from Nehru maidan to Karavali Utsav grounds.  The cultural groups depicting variety cultural splendor of different districts of Karnataka will partake in this procession that would cover the main streets depicting cultural splendor, added DC.

 

During 10-days of Karavali Utsav cultural shows will be held both at Utsav grounds and Kadri Park.  It would depict the culture and tradition of coastal district, said DC. She urged the people involved to make all arrangements without lapses.   

 

DC instructed youth services and sport department officials to provide all facilities for athletes from across the district and education institutions, in order to take part in Athletes Meet.

 

Beach Utsav will be held at Panambur beach at the last 3 days of Karavali Utsav. She advised the officials to streamline all cultural events and water sports events at the beach Utsav.

 

She cautioned fool-proof arrangements without giving any scop for scheduled events.

 

She appealed the general public and sub-committee that were formed for Karavavali Utsav to co-operate for the success of the event.

 

ADC Roopa, municipal commissioner Shanady Ajit Kumar, deputy commissioner Santosh, Tahsildar Guruprasad, heads of Karavali Utsav sub-committees was present.
