Mangaluru: Alma Mater meets to commemorate diamond jubilee of Padua High School

Mangaluru, 24 Nov: The alumni meet to commemorate diamond jubilee of Padua High School, Nantoor, here was held on Saturday, November 23. The alumni were reminiscent of their days spent at the school and thanking their mentor teachers during the alumni meet.
In his presidential address, Mangaluru diocesan Catholic Board of Education (CBE) secretary Fr Antony Serra said, ‘The alumni express their gratitude to the teachers for disciplining methods in the past. Meanwhile, at the changed circumstances, the teachers are helpless in applying such methods now,’ said Fr Antony. He also lauded the contributions of Padu High School in imparting quality education through 75 years of its existence.
Karnataka state Secondary Schools retired deputy director Philomena Lobo explained the concern of Padua High School teachers in their quest for excellence.
Alumni Association president Denis Lobo welcomed the gathering and introduced alumni for their major achievements.
The condolences were offered for the demise of teacher Avit Barboza.
Padua High School head master Francis D’Cunha introduced the teachers and students shared the memorable events during their student days.
Olivia Fernandes compered the programme. Herald Monteiro proposed vote of thanks.
