Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 18.47 lac at Mangaluru airport

Mangaluru, 20 Nov: The Customs sleuths recovered 483.57 grams of gold, valued at Rs. 18.47 lakh, from a passenger at the international airport here on Tuesday. The passenger is said to have concealed the gold, which is in paste form, in his rectum.
The Customs sleuths said that the passenger was checked soon after he arrived at the airport from Dubai. The gold was concealed by the passenger in three packets in his rectum. The passenger was released after the formalities of seizure were completed.
On October 12, the sleuths seized 524.78 grams of gold valued at Rs. 19.72 lakh and, on November 4, they seized 252.98 grams of gold.
