Mangaluru: Yaksha Deva Mitra Kala Mandali from Belvai takes Yakshagana to Kangaroo Land

Mangaluru, 07 Nov: Yaksha Deva Mitra Kala Mandali, touring Yakshagana troupe from Belvai in Moodbidri taluk of Dakshina Kannada district returned recently from Australia, after presenting successful shows in provinces of Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia, enthralling several thousands of people.
The touring troupe presented 7shows in Melbourne, Victoria province, 3 shows in Sydney, New South Wales province and 2 shows in Perth, Western Australia. Kannada Sangh – Melbourne hosted the troupe to present shows across Australia, while Indian Society of Western Australia organized the event to mark Deepavali celebration.
Australian minister for tourism and culture Paul Papali presented citation letters to all the artistes of touring troupe on the occasion.
Furthermore, the touring troupe also presented such shows in 10 states of US in 2018 on their 45 days tour.

Yaksha Deva Mitra Kala Mandali, touring Yakshagana troupe from Belvai in Moodbidri taluk of Dakshina Kannada district has been striving to promote Yakshagana in the last 22 years. Its founder Devanand Bhat is the brain behind its successful shows both in India and overseas. It mentors young artistes to pursue Yakshagana career by organizing variety training programmes in different forms of Yakshagana.
The troupe comprised six renowned artistes - young promising artiste Ravichandra Kannadikatte, renowned musician Devanand Bhat, Kateel temple sponsored touring troupe members Dr Shruta Kirtiraja, Laxman Kumar Marakada and Akshay Kumar Marnad.
