Mangaluru: KSHEMA observes World Anesthesia Day by conducting CPR Challenge Contest

Mangaluru, 16 Oct: To observe World Anesthesia Day, the CPR awareness program was held at Justice K S Hegde Hospital on Tuesday, October 15.
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure that combines chest compressions with ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further help arrives to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest which is recognized in a unconscious or unresponsive patient.
The competition was declared open by Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, vice chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Dr Alka Kulkarni, registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University.
Dr P S Prakash, dean, K S Hegde Medical Academy presided the function.
More than 60 people were participated and 3 prizes were awarded.
Dr Sripad G Mehandale, HoD of anesthesiology appreciated the involvement of common people in the contest.
Dr Gayathri Bhat, Professor and coordinator of NU-MEDISIM conducted the program.
Dr Anand Bangera, Professor of anesthesiology delivered the vote of thanks.
