Mangaluru: 101 students donate blood at camp organized by Lions Club-Highlands

Mangaluru, 11 Oct: Blood donation is a noble deed since it saves precious lives of accident victims, said Lions Club International (LCI) co-ordinator Sunil Hegde.
Sunil was speaking after inaugurating blood camp that was jointly organized by youth Red Cross and LCI – Highland, at Government First Grade College, Car Street, here on Thursday, October 10.
LCI – Highlands president Jayaprakash was the chief guest said, ‘Blood acts as Sanjivini in saving the victims regardless of caste, creed and faith,’ he said. The student should take lead in donating blood to inspire others in the society, he urged.
Government First Grade College principal Prof Rajashekar Hebbar presided the programme.
LCI – Highlands co-ordinators Nagesh Kumar and Somashekar, youth Red Cross co-ordinator Dr Mahesh K B, Prof Nayana Kumari K and Prof Manibhushan D’Souza were present.
One-hundred-one volunteers donated their blood on the occasion.
