Congress holds Padayatra to mark 150th Gandhi Jayanti

Mangaluru, 03 Oct: District Congress Committee held Padayatra in the city, on Wednesday, October 2, on the occasion of 150th Gandhi Jayanti.

 

 

The Padayatra began at 2.30pm from Karavali Utsav grounds, passing through M G Road, PVS Circle, Bunts Hostel, Jyoti Circle, Hampankatta and concluded at Town Hall. It was held to create general awareness on Gandhian principles of non-violence and peace.

 

A public meet was held at Town Hall, where the veterans addressed the gathering.

 

AICC secretary and Mysuru observer P C Vishnunatan, former ministers Ramanat Rai and U T Khader, DCC president Harish Kumar, MLC Ivan D’Souza, former MLAs Abayachandra Jain, Vasant Bangera, Shakuntala Shetty, Moideen Bawa and J R Lobo, Dr Raghu, youth leader Mitun Rai and veteran Congressmen were present.
