Mangaluru, 26 Sep: Auto rickshaw drivers, owners and labors staged Padayatra from Mini Vidhan Soudha to Deputy Commissioner’s office, here on Thursday, September 26, opposing the amendment to Motor Vehicles Act.

Addressing the protesters in front of district headquarter, MLC Ivan D’Souza said, ‘The union government is adapting anti-labor policies. It’s unfair to announce goodies to rich and cause distress to labor class who are struggling to earn their livelihood during economic upheavals,’ said D’Souza.

He also urged the union government to amend the said Act with due consideration to labor class.

The leaders of different labor unions were present on the occasion.
