Mangaluru: ICYM Episcopal City Deanery youth gather for Yuva Milan – 2K19

Mangaluru, 07 Sep: With great zeal and enthusiasm ICYM Episcopal City Deanery Mangaluru held Yuva Milan – 2K19 on Sunday, September 1 from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The youths of ICYM Episcopal City Deanery came together under one roof for Yuva Milan – 2K19 at Rosario Cathedral Hall, here on Sunday.

 

The programme commenced with a prayer song led by Dheeraj Lobo and group. 

 

John Errol Samuel - patron sponsor of Yuva Milan - 2K19 was the chief guest of the occasion.

 

Fr J B Crasta, Episcopal City Deanery vicar presided the programme.

 

Yuvaspoorthi Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza - diocesan director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Fr Ashwin Cardoza - designate director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Fr Anil Francis Pinto - director, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery, Leon Lloyd Saldanha, Bendore - diocesan youth president, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Delitia Asumptha Pereira, Urwa - president, Sonali Rodrigues, Bejai - secretary, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery, Sanjay D’Souza, Bendore - vice president, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery and convener, Yuva Milan – 2K19 were present on the dais.

 

Vishma D’Cunha, Cascia - vice president, Vivian S Fernandes, Madantyar - treasurer, Jaison Leroy Pereira, Shirtady – past president, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Minol Mrinaline Braggs Omzoor - PRO and diocesan nominated member for ICYM Episcopal City Deanery, Sharon Pinto Beltangady - president, ICYM Beltangady deanery were also present.

 

 

A total of 165 youths gathered for the programme from 11 units.

 

Delitia Asumptha Pereira - president, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery welcomed the gathering.

 

Yuva Milan – 2K19 was inaugurated in a creative way by the chief guest - John Errol Samuel along with Fr J B Crasta and other the dignitaries.

 

Sonali Rodrigues - secretary, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery read out the Annual Report of the year 2018-19.

 

ICYM ECD Executives of 2018-19 were honored with certificates during the occasion and a token of gratitude was given to Chrisel Vas, Jeppu for her service to ICYM ECD as secretary of 2015-16 and wished her happy and fruitful married life.

 

On behalf of ICYM Episcopal City Deanery Leon Lloyd Saldanha, Bendore and Vishma D’Cunha, Cascia were felicitated on being elected as diocesan youth president and Diocesan vice president for the year 2019-20 from the deanery.

 

Fr J B Crasta was felicitated duing the occasion for his constant support and guidance given to the Youths.

 

The patron sponsor of Yuva Milan - 2K19 John Errol Samuel was felicitated for his overwhelming support to the youth.

 

In the presidential address, Fr J B Crasta appreciated all the youths for their active participation and encouraged the youths to take active participation in the upcoming events and wished a great success to the event.

 

Sanjay D’Souza, Bendore – convener, Yuva Milan – 2K19 proposed the vote of thanks. Alwyn D’Souza, Rosario - president, ICYM Rosario parish unit compered the inaugural programme and concluded with the ICYM Theme song.

 

Ice breaker session was conducted by Sharon Pinto Beltangady - president, ICYM Beltangady deanery.

 

An inspirational talk was given to the youth by Fr Ashwin Cardoza - designated director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese on the topic, Empowering the Youth and its relationship with the Church.’

 

Fr Anil Pinto - director, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery celebrated the Holy Eucharistic celebration for all the youths gathered.

 

The event was packed with lots of fun filled games. Individual and group games were conducted by Sharon Pinto, Beltangady - president, ICYM Beltangady deanery, Elroy Saldanha, Omzoor - former president, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Francis Monteiro, Siddakatte - vice president, Veena Vas, Shaktinagar - diocesan youth  general secretary, ICYM Mangaluru diocese.

 

Valedictory programme of Yuva Milan – 2K19 commenced at 4:15pm.

 

Fr J B Crasta - vicar, Episcopal City Deanery presided the programme.

 

 

Fr Anil Pinto - director, ICYM ECD, Leon Lloyd Saldanha, Bendore - diocesan youth president, Veena Vas, Shaktinagar - diocesan youth general secretary and diocesan Executive and Council members of ICYM Mangaluru diocese were present at the dais.

 

Token of gratitude was given to all those who helped in making the event successful. Prizes were awarded to all the groups.

 

ICYM Milagres unit bagged Yuva Milan - 2K19 trophy for their highest participation of youths. It was concluded with baila dance. It was a day worth remembering for all the youths of Episcopal City Deanery.
