Mangaluru: Elias Sanctis elected president of Rachana

Mangaluru, 29 Jul: The Annual General body Meeting (AGM) of Rachana, Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held on July 27 at the mini hall of Bendore parish.

 

Stany Alvares, president of Rachana expressed his gratitude to all the members for the cooperation they extended during his tenure of two years. A minute of silence was observed in respect of the departed souls of Rachana members.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Stany Alvares said, "Due to personal reasons, I could not implement the many plans I had in my mind. However, I am satisfied with whatever I could do during my tenure, with the help of senior members of the organization, who laid the foundation for this organization 20 years ago. Today I am handing over the charge to the new president. Hope the new office bearers will continue to work towards uniting all members of Rachana."

 

 

The annual report was presented to the audience by secretary Anil. The statement of accounts was presented by treasurer Felix J Pinto for the year 2017-19. Office bearers for the new term of 2019-21 were elected. The process of election was done by John B Monteiro, former president of Rachana.

 

Elias Sanctis was elected as the new president for the term of 2019-21.

 

Members of the organization suggested many ways to unite the members further that will benefit all of them. The outgoing president Stany Alvares welcomed all the opinions and suggestions and said that the new team of office bearers will discuss on all of them and implement the same to make Rachana grow to greater heights.

 

Nelson Monteiro, secretary for the new term rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Felix J Pinto.

 

The other officer bearers elected for the new term are Vincent Cutinha, vice-president, Nelson Monteiro, secretary, Naveen Lobo, joint secretary, Felix J Pinto, treasurer and members Violet Pereira, Louis Lobo, Lawrence D’Souza, Anil Vas, James Madtha and Valerian Rodrigues.
