Posting obscene videos on social media will invite strict action, warns SP

Mangaluru, 01 Jul: Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad has warned the public against posting offensive videos as well as private videos on social media.
The SP’s warning has come in the wake of a video of a couple in compromising positions circulating on WhatsApp.
The SP has warned that Suo Moto case will be filed against those responsible for circulating such videos.
A press communique from the SP said saving obscene videos on mobile and computers too is an offence and that it invites action under I Section 354C and 66E of IPC and Section 66A of IT Act.
