Udupi/M’Belle: Parishioners Cordially Welcome Fr. Jitesh Castelino as New Assistant Parish Priest

Udupi/M’Belle, 04 Jun: Parishioners of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle cordially welcomed Fr. Jitesh Castelion as their new Assistant Parish Priest on Tuesday, 4 June 2019 at 4.30 pm. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas-Parish Priest of Moodubelle along with Vincent Fernandes-Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Latha D’Mello-Secretary, members of Finance Committee, Parish pastoral Council and other parishioners welcomed Fr. Jitesh Castelino by offering him flower bouquets.
A brief welcome programme was held inside the church. In his welcome address, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas said that since the transfer of Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, the former Assistant Parish Priest to Kulshekar, Mangalore on 21 May 2019, there was a kind of vacuum in the parish which would be filled by the new Assistant Parish Priest-Fr. Jitesh Castelino and assured him the support and cooperation from all the parishioners.
Replying to the welcome by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas and the parishioners, Fr. Jitesh Castelino expressed his happiness of having the opportunity to serve as Assistant Parish Priest in Moodubelle and said that he will devote his time and energy in serving the parishioners.
Fr. Ferdinand Gonslves, Parish Priest of Shankerpura who had accompanied Fr. Jitesh Castelino said that Fr. Jitesh has been known for his dedication in serving in the church even when he was a seminarian. He assured Fr. Clement Mascarenhas and the parishioners of Moodubelle that Fr. Jitesh would fulfill his mission as the Assistant Parish Priest to the best of his ability.
Fr. Jitesh Castelino was accompanied by Fr. Ferdinand Gonslves, Fr. Roshan D’Cunha-Assistant Parish Priest of Pangala, Fr. Alban D’Souza-Parish Priest of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady, Joseph and Ida Castelino-parents of Fr. Jitesh, Mark Vaz-Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council of Pangala, Mrs. Clara Mendonca-Secretary and other parishioners of Pangala.
Fr. Jitesh Castelino of Shankerpura (Pangala) was ordained a priest on 9 May 2019. This is the first assignment of Fr. Jitesh Castelino as the Assistant Parish Priest.
