Mumbai: Model Co-op Bank opens 24th branch at Goregaon (W)

Mumbai, 03 May: Model Co-op Bank opened its 24th branch at Goregaon (West), here on Wednesday, May 1.
Grameen Capital India Limited CEO Royston Braganza inaugurated the new branch located Ek Veer Prasad Building, M G Road, Goregaon (West), here on Wednesday, May 1 morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Royston said, ‘Hard work brings prosperity. The cordial relations will be a blessing that rewards. The trust lays solid foundation for financial security,’ said Royston.
In his presidential address, Model Bank chairman Albert W D’Souza said that the Bank has about 70,000 shareholders with Rs 37 crore share capital. It has bank deposits of nearly Rs. 1,030 crore and transacted over Rs 1,600 crore of business. Its customer friendly service is helping the Bank to succeed despite stiff competitions from other financial institutions. The human touch is indeed rewarding, said Albert.
Fr Dr Francis Carvalho, parish priest of Our Lady of Rosary, Goregaon (West) blessed the new branch.
Model Bank founder president John D’Silva said that the Bank has opened 24 branches in its 20 years of existence and created a niche among the customers because of its friendly staff. It also helps youth to become entrepreneurs by lending loans, said D’Silva.
The Bank deputy chairman William Sequeira, directors Vincent Mathias, chartered accountant Paul Nazareth, Thomas D Lono, Abraham Clement Lobo, Sanjay Shinde, advocate Pius Vas, Benedicta Rebello, Marita D’Mello, Bank CEO and general manager William L D’Souza, officers Royn Branco, Jason Martis, Anil Menezes, Biata Carvalho, Bombay Catholic Sabha president Antony Dias, Alex D’Souza Goregaon and others were present.
William Sequeira welcomed the gathering. The director Thomas D Lobo delivered the preliminary address. Edward Rasquinha compered the programme. The branch manager proposed vote of thanks.
