Dhwani Pratishtana Dubai celebrates World Theater Day with variety cultural events

Dubai, 02 Apr: Dhwani Pratishtana Dubai celebrated 27 observed World Theater Day by organizing many theater activities here on March 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Dubai’s Kannada amateur theater artiste Arathi Adiga briefed about International Theater Institute (ITI), its centers and activities, also about birth and history of World Theater Day and its purpose. Each year one country is being noted theater personality gives important and significant message. This year Cuba’s famous theater veteran Pro Carlos caldron gave the message. In 2002, Indian got the opportunity to give the message.
Indian theaters living legend Girish Karnad explained birth of India’s first drama and birth of Natya Shastra in his message.
Adressing the gathering, chief guest of the event senior litterateur and theater enthusiast Sudhakar Pejavar urged to understand the hardships of theater productions and artistes. He highly appreciated Dhwani artistes’ effort in staging Indian great classic plays.
Vasu Bayaru, a senior theater artister spoke on the occasion and expressed his own experiences and opinions on changing presentation style of theater to attract audiences.
Prakash Rao Payyar, president of Dhwani Pratishtana and director of Dhwani dramas spoke about different types of drama. He said, ‘Plays should not be considered only for entertainment it should be used for mental and spiritual evaluation.’
Dhwani artists presented Mono acts, mimicry, dance and singing to celebrate the day dedicated to them. Artistes K VAdiga, Vinay Pujar, Adeshhassana, Narasimhan, Rudrayya, Ashok Anchan, Sapna Kiran and Vasu Bayar presented the cultural event.
Program started with melodies prayer by Adeshhassana. Rudrayya Navali Hiremutt compered the program.
