Mangaluru: In a first, Tulunadu farmers walk ramp at Peasants Fashion Show in city

Mangaluru, 15 Mar: Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy in collaboration with Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology (MIFT) organized Farmers’ Fashion Show at Town Hall, here on Thursday, March 14.

 

Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president A C Bhandary after inaugurating the Show said that fashion show of Tulu agrarian society will educate the modern people. It will also get due respect that the farmers deserve.

 

The progressive farmers Adyar Pradeep Kumar Shetty, Katukukke B S Gambir, Satyanarayana Shetty Bellare, Devappa Sheka Pilyadka, Shiva L Poojary Dengaru, Moodbidri were felicitated during the programme.

 

 

Advocate Raghavendra Rao, Bunts Sangh – Kavoor president Anand Shetty was the chief guest of the occasion.

 

Karnataka former minister B Nagaraja Shetty welcomed the gathering. MIFT director M G Hegde delivered the preliminary address. MIFT principal Chandralekha Gowda, accounts officer Manohar were present.

 

Twenty farmers from Mudipu village walked the ramp like professional models wearing traditional Tulunadu peasants’ dresses amidst thundering applauses of viewers.

 

MIFT students also walked the ramp with the dresses designed by them.
