Mumbai: Model Co-op Bank opens 22nd branch at J K Tower, Vikhroli (E)

Mumbai, 12 Mar: Model Co-operative Bank opened its 22nd branch at J K Tower, Vikhroli (East), here on Sunday, March 10 morning.
Mumbai GST joint commissioner G V Bilolikar was the chief guest inaugurated the new branch.
Speaking on the occasion, Bilolikar said, ‘Co-operative societies/banks play key role in helping the common folk to save in sustaining themselves. It also helps them in realizing their dreams. In the past, the money lenders exploited the borrowers to their brink. The co-operatives changed the entire scenario and became succor of poor and middle income groups. The Model Co-operative Bank is trusted by its longtime customers that contributed its rapid growth,’ said Bilolikar.
Fr Rocky Bans, parish priest of St Joseph’s church, Vikhroli (West) blessed the new premises.
The Bank chairman Albert W D’Souza presided the programme.
The Bank founder chairman John D’Silva, director and branch expansion officer Lawrence D’Souza, vice chairman William Sequeira, CEO and general manager William L D’Souza were present at the dais.
In his presidential address, Albert said that the Bank has crossed over Rs 1,000 deposits and has over 20,000 shareholders. It is on the way to become a scheduled bank shortly. The customers trust and loyalty strengthened by banking services enabled it to open branches at Panvel, Goregaon (West) and Sakinaka.

Albert welcomed the gathering. Edward Rasquinha compered the programme. The branch manager Mervin Lobo proposed vote of thanks.
