Mumbai: Kar minister U T Khader lays foundation for Cultural Complex of Karnataka Sangh

Mumbai, 04 Mar: Karnataka minister for urban development and housing/Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge laid foundation for new Cultural Complex of Karnataka Sangh Mumbai® at their premises in Matunga (West), here on Sunday, March 3.
In his inaugural address, Khader said, ‘Karnataka government aims at promoting Kannada that has a long history. Kannada is inclusive of literature, culture and art that is known world over. India is the land of many languages and diver culture that gives major boost to strong India.’
Karnataka Sangh Mumbai that was founded 8 decades ago is an umbrella to all other Kannadiga associations. It was founded by farsighted Kannadigas whose sacrifice needs to be acknowledged along with other office bearers since then, added minister Khader. He also assured state funds towards the cost of constructing the Cultural Complex.
Karnataka Sangh Mumbai president Manohar M Kori presided the programme.
K R Pete ML A Narayan R Gowda, Surat income tax commissioner Srinivas T Bidari, retired IAS officer I M Vittalamurti, Bunts Sangh Mumbai honorary treasurer Praveen B Shetty, social activist Suresh Shetty Gurme, and office bearers of other Kannadiga/Tulu associations were present.
Minister Khader urged all Kannadigas to show their mite during Abbakka Utsav that will be held in Mumbai in October 2019.
Dr Shyamala Prakash rendered the prayers. Karnataka Sangha Mumbai honorary secretary Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu welcomed the gathering. The building committee convener Omdas Kannangar delivered the preliminary address. Rajeev Naik, Avinash Kamat and Surendra Kumar Shetty Marnad compered the programme. Malati Chandrakant proposed vote of thanks.
