Mumbai, 19 Feb: The legendary litterateur Jnanapeeta awardee Dr Shivaram Karant is the classic example to prove what one can achieve if he/she determines to do. In his Kannada novel, Manjule, he has tried to explore the secrets of relation between two lovers. He emphasized the harmony in marital bliss that is ever relevant even now, said writer and critic Dr Mamata Rao.
Dr Rao was delivering Sadanand Endowment Lecture on Shivaram Karant that was held during Karantotsav – 2019, organized by Charkop Kannadigara Balaga Kandivali® at Poisar Gymkhana, Kandivali (West), here on Sunday, February 17.
The Balaga president Muddukrishna N Shetty presided the programme.
Dr Harish B Shetty Dahisar was the chief guest garlanded the portrait of Dr Shivaram Karant and inaugurated the programme.
The veteran litterateur and researcher Babu Shiva Poojary distributed the prizes to the winners of drawing competitions.
Charkop Kannadigara Balaga Kandivali trustee Jaya C Shetty, Chandrashekar Shetty, Harish Shetty Yermal, P S Karant Vapi, Sa Daya and others were present.
Rajani Shetty, Shubha Suvarna and Jayalaxmi Shetty rendered the prayers. Bhaskar Sarapady welcomed the gathering. Gopal Trasi compered the programme.
