Bengaluru: FKCC to organize Konkan Karavali Utsav, in aid of Kodagu flood relief on Feb 10

Bengaluru, 05 Feb: Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations® (FKCA) will be organising Food Fest during Konkan Karavali Utsav at St Joseph’s Indian High School grounds, Vittal Mallya Road, here on Sunday, February 10 from 9:00am to 10:00pm.
Food Fest is being organised in aid of Kodagu Flood Relief, to build houses and rehabilitation of the flood affected victims. The said venue will have various food stalls with coastal flavours both in veg and non veg, games stalls and cultural performances. There will also be a DJ war from 10.30am to 3.00pm and the best performer will win a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
FKCA also celebrates its 22nd Annual Day at the same venue which will commence at 4:00pm with a Mass in Konkani celebrated by Dr Robert Michael Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga.
FKCA confers awards to three eminent personalities annually for their work towards the development of the society and for their exemplary services in their respective. This year’s awardees are:
1. Life-Time Achievement Award - Margaret Francis Furtado, renowned social worker.
2. Professional Excellence Award - Charles Lobo, IPoS, chief postmaster general, Karnataka division.
3. Entrepreneur of the Year Award - George S Fernandes, founder and managing director, St Milagres Credit Souharda Co-operative Ltd, Karwar.
Dr G Parameshwara, deputy chief minister of Karnataka will be the chief guest.
Karnataka large scale industries minister K J George, parliamentary secretary Ivan D’Souza, MLA N A Harris, former MLA J R Lobo will be the guests of honour.
Bishop Dr Robert Michael Miranda will preside the event.
Bengaluru Archbishop Dr Peter Machado and Bishop Henry D’Souza of Bellary will grace the event.
